With the most sunshine in the Netherlands, Walcheren is a great destination for walking.

There are lovely hikes through the dunes and along the shore a stone’s throw from the beautiful esplanade with its cosy terraces and restaurants.

In the centre of Vlissingen you can pick up various walking tours from the Spuistraat Tourist Information Centre.

There is a one-and-a-half hour guided tour of Vlissingen for groups and individuals that departs from the maritime museum muZEEum from May to October every Sunday at 2:00 p.m. An experienced city guide will show and explain unique sights and monuments in Vlissingen.

Alternatively, you can opt for a lovely walk from the train station past the sluices to the centre of town. This two-kilometre walk takes you along the dyke and the Westerschelde and takes about an hour.
